In a surprising collaboration that defies conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes echo through the shadows." The plot introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden sect.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Extra Features

Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Update

This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
